L1G29 V-(?)?? grammar = (1) honorific ending ~show respect to someone; (2) giving orders or making requests politely
Usage:
- (1) V-(?)?? as a honorific ending of V-?/?? (polite ending): use to ask or talk about the person that you show respect (e.g. your teacher, your parents, your boss).
- (2) V-(?)??: use to make requests or give orders, suggestions, and directions politely = please (do)
- (3) Its formal polite form is V~(?)??? : use to give commands very formally. Mostly used on government/restaurant/store signs or at the subway broadcasts or at a test.
- V ending in vowel + ??. (e.g. ???, ???, ?????, *????=make, *???=live ...)
- V ending in consonant + ???. (e.g. ????, ????, *????=listen, *????=walk,...)
- Adj ending in ?? + ??. (e.g. ????? = I wish you happiness ; ????? = please be healthy)
